If anybody needs help to trace there roots in the Channels Islands, we are a group of dedicated Family Historians who are willing to look up and post Census` info from 1841 to 1911, we also have people who may be willing to do actual look ups at the Priaulx Library.
We also have a few people who have experience of searching the France 10year Indexes, should your Guernsey ancestors have come originally from France

Hi iceman6900 and thank you for your kind offer of look-ups.
Old family letters indicate that my Boucaut ancestors from St Peter Port, Guernsey were connected to the Le Mottee family.
I have found a document in the on-line Priaulx library catalogue that is described as being about the Le Mottee family and containing a Boucaut family tree (amongst other trees). I would be very interested in any details in this document related to the Boucauts.
Its details are:
author: Lyons, R Colvill J
title: Le Mottee family: copy of handwriiten extracts from a book
publisher: Lyons family, 2009
Bib Id: 396060
It is shelved at: Local studies LAG929.2 LEM
My ancestors were Captain Ray Boucaut (1802-72) and his wife, Winifred Penn. His siblings were Martha and James, and possibly Sarah. His parents were Hellier (1758-1834) and Martha. Hellier's parents were Nicholas and Marie.
Any information you can give me would be most gratefully received.

I am looking for the parents of William Henry Mesquene born 9 Oct 1785 baptised 16 Oct 1785 in Castel, Guernsey. Some say that his mother was Rachel Lihou (out of wedlock) as she did not marry Daniel Mesquene until 31 May 1786 and Daniel's first wife Judith Cohu did not die until 5 March 1786. Can anyone view who were the parents shown on William's 1785 baptism record for me? Thank you! It is not practical for me to leave Australia.
By the way Rachel's pedigree apparently traces back to include James Guille (1465- 1538) who is shown by other researchers to have married Anne Weston, a daughter of Sir Richard Weston and Anne Sandys. I am not convinced that is correct as their other children are well known in history, nor is Anne Weston likely to have been a sister of Sir Richard. However, he was master of the Royal Wards of Henry VII so perhaps Anne was one of those wards.
