On the 1851 census my G,G,G,G - Grandmother Lucy Bird is residing at 154 Silver Hall, Isleworth. Profession/occupation Fund holder and house proprietor.
Does anyone know what was Silver Hall and what she may have been a fund holder of? There are other people on the page who have professional jobs and are also fund holders. Jaynekb.

Hi
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isleworth there were 2x Silver Hall"s
Silver Hall No. 1 (South of North Street) (Demolished 1801)
Silver Hall No. 2 (North of North Street) (Demolished 1950)
North Street . . . . .

Note Silver Street just west of the arrow

The 154 is the Number of Householder schedule not the house number ;)

I was wondering if she was a fund holder of the brewery.
-
What was her husbands occupation, it could come from there

The term "fund holder" suggests that the person has an income from stocks or government bonds. This is often a person who has a life interest in a deceased estate.
The answer in this case is probably in the Will of her late husband.

She had two late husbands. First was a livery stable keeper and the second was an Inn Keeper.

Hello Jayne, I too have Lucy Bird as a g g g g grandparent. On the 1841 census her son Charles Pettit the Silversmith is my ancestor through his son John.
I have just found the 1841 entry under Lucy Bard !
Where did you find the information on James Pettit ,Lucy's first husband ?
I only have the marriage entry for 1804 and can't identify him for sure anywhere else.
I found Lucy Pettit on the Westminster Rate rolls for 7 Thanet Place Temple bar up to 1839, when she presumably left to marry Edward and left Charles in the property.
I have been following Anne Foley, who was a wedding witness but can't work out if she is a sister or aunt ?
Interesting about the Fundholder and Edwards profession.
Would be good to hear from you

Good afternoon,
This is where Silverhall stood on northside of North st; http://www.rootschat.com/links/01ldo/
I know it well as I used to park just outside the gate for lunch breaks when delivering around Isleworth and Hounslow.

Edward Bird was an innkeeper on Moreton Road Isleworth 1841
Would that have been the Coach and Horses ?
