Can anyone put a date on this photo for me please and approx. ages , they seem to be at work  Would love to know what they were doing  Thank you

In my youth in the early 1950s the local Corporation workmen used a handcart and pulled them around to various places to repair loose pavements, they always had a pile of sand on the cart plus a shovel/pick and a big wooden maul, other jobs was drain cleaning with long tongs with large semicircular cups on the end to pull out sludge from the drains,  this was before the mechanised sludge gulper trucks.
Ages I would say mid to late 50s for man on left, mid 60s other man,he is also wearing clogs, could be pre or post ww2

Thank you, hopefully can piece the jigsaw together for these two men i have no names but think i know what family i thought they could be father and son but could be brothers on the back it says happy christmas love father thanks again for helping

There does look to be a likeness and I think more likely to be brothers than father and son.
