Hi,
Looking for Abraham Ingram in census records. Wife was a Margaret and children Catherine born circa 1850, Thomas, Mary, Abraham,Richard, Elizabeth, William,Samuel.
Any help much appreciated

Where did Abrahams year and place of birth come from?
Where was Catherine (and the others) born? What is the source of her year of birth?
What else do you know about Margaret?
Presumably you are sure Abraham lived till census time, if he was still fathering children around 1850!
More details on what you already have would help - especially on how you have found it if you haven't got censuses!

Catherine married in Joseph Tallett even though on records says Tallit 15/03/1869 Sedgely Parish Church, Lower Gornal, Staffordshire, Father name given Abraham. On Family seach

This wouldn't give Abrahams year or place of birth.
Which, according to the one census, is around 1811 in Tipton.

Thank you. looking at 1881 census Catherine Tallett (nee Ingram) living at Swan Street in 1881 with husband Joseph Tallett and children. Didn't move far.

fathers name Richard Holmes and mothers name Mary.
do you think this could be Mary Holmes who married Abraham Ingram. One census records does mention she was born Wednesbury?

Highly possible.
But cant say for sure just seeing that in isolation. Often in families there are cousins etc with the same names born in the same place in the same era.
But if that is the ONLY Margaret Holmes in Wednesbury, then it must be her!

If you look on FreeREG http://www.freereg.org.uk/cgi/Search.pl there is Abrahams marriage plus one of the childrens baptisms there is also a possible baptism for Abraham if he was born 1803

All the censuses point to a later birth for him. He is reasonably consistent with his age.
