a lot of product details / instructions are online nowaday - if you the specific model numbers, try a google or Bing search ....

What model of Toshiba TV do you have, and do you have a particular sound bar you have in mind?

Soundbars will generally have a number of different sound inputs that should match with one or more outputs from your TV:

Phono Inputs (there are the Red and Black connectors on the back of your TV)
HDMI input
Digital Optical Input (that's optic fibre)

I simply connected a lead from head phone jack on TV to sound bar. Set output to headphones high in the Sound section of TV and use sound bar's controller for TV sound output. Works on my Toshiba.
