Hi
This is a cub pack from Carrick Knowe, Edinburgh. Probably 1957.
I'm trying to identify the location - it looks like a public park, but the large Georgian-looking building with tower, behind the trees rules out Carrick Knowe Park And St Margaret's Park, Corstorphine.
It's unlikely to be far from West Edinburgh, as I certainly don't recall the occasion. Any Ideas?

Any chance it could be much earlier? Saughton Hall wasn't demolished until 1952 but a five year difference is a long time in cub pack membership terms!

No - I'm in the picture, and I reckon I'm 9, rather than 4!

Could it be Harrison Park with tenements in Harrison Road in the background?

Could it have been a visit to Bruntsfield Links or the Meadows??

I had a good Google around the Meadows, Kay, without spotting anything.
Don't think I've been to Harrison Park, Anne. The buildings look 2-storey, rather than tenements.
Thanks.

It appears to have a wall round it, if that helps. :-\

How about what's now the Dean Gallery, as viewed from Belford Road (west side of the building)?

Not a bad suggestion, Anni B, but I can't see a line of trees so close to the gallery.
