Any fathers name shown on her marriage cert?
I can't see a Jane or Ann Jones husband Cad** born Trawsfynydd on the 1851 census nor can I see a family with those children you list

I can't see a marriage for a Cadwal* Jones to a Jane Edmund/s in Dec Qtr 1838 - although the FreeBMD index has a possible marriage to Jane Jones

Edit - earlier thread that appears to relate to the same family http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=600995.msg4873907#msg4873907

The marriage on 9th November is to Jane Jones
see - http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~alwyn/M/BT/Traws/1836.htm#1838
The site also has baptisms c1818

P.S. There are three records for Gwndwn in 1815 also 1813 and 1837

In 1856, there is a will of John Edmund of Gwndwn who names the grandchildren, sons and daughter of Cadwalader Jones and Jane of Wern Bach.
In 1851, born Llanycil, he is at Gwndwn with a wife, Catherine, born Trawsfynydd, at Gwndwn. Presumably, these are Jane's parents.

Good find - In 1841 John and Cath Edmund were living next door to Cad and Jane Jones and the couple's son Robert at Gwndwn, Trawsfynydd

As she was a spinster at marriage, it sounds like a probable late use of the semi-patronymic by the vicar/parish clerk.
If her father was John Edmund she might well be Jane Jones/John. Some of my Merionethshire ancestors from the Penllyn parishes were entered both by surname and by semi-patronymic at different times.

Something I meant to add. There is a marriage of John Edmund to Catherine Robert in Llanfair juxta Harlech in 1814. John is from Dolgelley and Catherine from Llanfair, so seem to fit the profile.
Later that year, they had a child, Edmund, and the abode was given as Henganai.
In 1851 Martha Jones seems to be on the census at the top of a page but the preceding page is missing.
Lewis was born in Wern Fach, which was probably the abode in 1851. John is with his grandparents.
The houses after the entry for Martha are the same as those after Wern Fach in 1861, so it looks as thought sveral records are missing.

Thank you all for your interest and help.... very much appreciated!!
From looking on Ancestry I have come across Jane with many variations of names Anne Jane, Jane Jones, Jane Edmund, Jane Ann. So I am a bit confused as to what is correct...
I had the names from my partners grandmother who died a few years ago at the age of 96 (with full memory of her family) Martha as I have listed in the original post was her mother
There is also, I believe more siblings.
But first I need to sort out which one is their mother, Would it make sense for the Jane Jones and Cadwaladr to be the parents and that Jane was Edmunds? (this is also a name I had from her) as suggested?
Also - where can I find this? In 1856, there is a will of John Edmund of Gwndwn who names the grandchildren, sons and daughter of Cadwalader Jones and Jane of Wern Bach.
In 1851, born Llanycil, he is at Gwndwn with a wife, Catherine, born Trawsfynydd, at Gwndwn. Presumably, these are Jane's parents.
Thank you in advance for any info you may shine...

For the will, go to - http://cat.llgc.org.uk/cgi-bin/gw/chameleon?skin=profeb&lng=en
In the first box choose 'Name' and enter John Edmund
In the second box choose 'Township' and enter Gwndwn
In this case, there is no need to enter a date but it might be useful if searching for other wills. If you add dates, click on save before entering the search criteria.
You can also enter the county in Township or Parish, if you are not sure of the location, but leave off 'shire' - i.e. enter Merioneth.
