Hello I am trying to locate who Nora Evelene Truckel married before she married Harold Clinton Fox.
Nora Evelene Truckel was born November 19, 1903 in Guelph Ontario. She married Hershel Frederick Fox on August 16, 1941 She had two children from her pervious marriage Margaret Elsie Catherine and Harold Clinton. Hershel and Nora had one child together Marjorie Ann Frances. Nora passed away May 25, 1979.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated

Looks like the birth of the first child of the first marriage was Harold Clinton Fox 1 st January 1924, then Margaret Elsie Catherine 21 February 1929. The daughter (Marjorie Ann Frances Fox) from the second marriage is buried in the same location as Nora and Hurchell.
Why do you think Nora was married prior to Harold Clinton Fox ?
See they are all buried at Holy Sepulchre RC Cemetery - Wentworth.

Hi Sandra,
Family members had told me that Nora was married before Harold Clinton Fox. I was just trying to follow that lead and see if it was true that she had children with another man before she married Harold Clinton Fox. I guess the only way to confirm it would be to see if I could find the children's birth registrations to see who was the father.

You may want to contact the cemetery admin. They were helpful in providing info on a few of my ancestors buried there.

Maybe if you could locate an obituary for Nora, that would possibly mention all her children. Not sure if Run Kitty might be able to help with an obituary but if not you could try the local libraries.

Hi,
The archive and microfilm for the Hamilton Expositor and other local papers are kept at the main branch of the public library system. Microfilms are also kept there. You may want to contact the McMaster University Library admin as well.

I checked the Toronto papers - but no mention of Nora. Sorry. :'(
As jdc says, the local library is probably your best bet.

Canada Voters List shows a Nora and Frederick Fox at 33 Fennell Avenue East - 408 Delmonico Apts. Hamilton Ontario in 1974.

Going back to Canada Voters List for 1945 - 107 Burris Street - Hurschell Fox (steel worker) Mrs Hurchell Fox, H C Fox (steel worker) Fred Fox, Mrs Catherine Parkinson and Bert Stephenson.
Wondering if Fred Fox is another son or was he a result of a previous marriage for Hurchell ???
Hurchell was married 15 Nov 1919 Wentworth to Zeita Giles.

Dorothy Fox is another to investigate ??? Possibly from a previous marriage of Hurchell.

Hi Sarah,
You may want to check the old phone directories for Hamilton as well.They go back quite far and you would likely be able to see family movement within Hamilton.
