Hi can anyone help in identifying the regiment on this pic please
-
Hi, do you have a name for the chap?
Thought he could have been RAF to start with but not sure due to arm badge.
Frank.

Pic. looks like late 1930's to me. Still wearing the old style jacket with stand and fall collar. I wore one of those in RAF blue in the late 50's (ATC). We did get issued with battle dress blouses and a magnificent fit and flare greatcoat though. Wish I still had it.
Have to wait for the military experts to see your Thread for a definitive answer. I did find lots of badges similar to yours, they were more associated with 'special forces'.

Hi
is there a link for the military experts? And would I be allowed to post this same question on 2 boards?

They'll find this, sooner rather than later, just be patient.

Go to Infantry Brigades and look for 219th, there is a similarity with your mans arm patch which looks like part of a birds head and this one pictured. This brigade had a two year period in early ww2 as a kind of Home Defence.
If you google 219th Infantry Brigade it will give you the regiments attached to this brigade.
This is all assuming that the badge is the correct one.

If this man is serving in the British forces after the early 1920's, your best bet would be to get his service record. https://www.gov.uk/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records

Could be an ANZAC patch and possibly the cap badge is a new zealand fern

Hi Althos
This seems unlikely as he served in British Forces (Army). Thanks anyway, mate
