Many listers will know Orielbenfro and all the help he has given freely on this forum.
Sadly Owen Vaughan passed away on Friday, January 9th, after a long fight with cancer. He will be greatly missed.

I too am saddened to hear Owen has passed away .My condolences to his Family.

I was just reading about him in my local paper. I knew he must have been ill at one stage when he said what ward he had been in the other year. :(

Owen Vaughan Known as "Orielbenfro" A Window on Wales sadly passed away after a very long illness to cancer on Friday 9th January 2015. Owen did thousands of look ups for free for many people including myself and i will be trully grateful and miss this Dear Man

Like a very many others, this kind gentleman assisted me no end in my research. So generous with his time. My thoughts are with his family.

Sadly I have only just read this post. My deepest condolences to his family. Owen was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those needing help and advice. Many of us would not have made progress in our researches had it not been for his willingness to share his knowledge.
