Title: Cmpleted: Harry Mills of Welling/Bexley Heath, Kent
Post by: Matthew Mills on Saturday 10 January 15 03:57 GMT (UK)
Hi, looking to trace the family of Harry Mills born approx 1889 in Welling, Kent.  Son of George and Susan nee Taylor.  He shows up in the 1891, 1901 and 1911 census at 7 Danson Lane, Welling, Kent with his parents and 2 brothers and it shows him as married with 1 living child and 1 who had died.  However I cannot find a marriage record or birth records for either him or his child/ren.
I know he owned a nursery (shows in kellys directory) and my living relative remembers him and his son (Sammy) owning a nursery in the late 1940s - 1950s.

Anyone able to find more information? or know any living relatives?

thanks in advance

Matt Mills

Oh wow. Thanks so much. I've been searching ancestry.com all day and didn't find those 2. I did however find Millie staying with her sister at school road welling in 1911. Family name was Watson and Millie spelled Milly with Daughter Milly age 1.  Census says only 1 child born so Harry must have had a child with a prior relationship.

Why do you think there is a child from a previous relationship?

The 1911 census is only meant to inform about the births of the current relationship, and children die.

Only because Harry lists 2 children, 1 living and 1 dead. Milly lists 1 child living. 0 dead.

Have you identified the other children born after 1911, and attempted to find their marriages, children and deaths?
