Samuel Gamble; died, 06-04-1897 @ 63 years. Buried Lutterworth, Leics.
The local U3A family history group is investigating the histories of some of the burials in our churchyard. One I've been entrusted with is the grave of the above. That is the only info. I have.
Can anyone help, please?

What kind of information are you looking for seventy plus? There's quite a bit about him on a public tree on Ancestry. Do you have access? If not let me know,

Hi,
There is an article in this newpaper which could be of interest -
Leicester Chronicle and the Leicestershire Mercury Saturday, April 10, 1897 -
Death of Mr S Gamble - By the death on Tuesday last of Mr Samuel Gamble, Lutterworth loses one of it's best known and highly esteemed natives, For 46 Year Mr Gamble was on the office of Mr Robert Fox, who was succeeded by his nephew Mr B H C Fox and latterly of Mr W G B Pullman, solicitors and registrars of the County Court, for many years Mr Gamble was managing clerk.
At the death of Mr Driver, late clerk to the Board of Guardians, Mr Gamble was appointed superintendent registrar of births, marriages and death for the Lutterworth district. For sometime he had been in failing health but he suddenly succumbed to an attack of apoplexy. He was 63 years of age. The funeral took place yesterday (Friday) afternoon.
Another article in the Leicester Chronicle and the Leicestershire Mercury Saturday, April 17, 1897 records that in addition to relatives of the deceased there were numerous tradesmen and leading residents attending Samuel Gamble's funeral. Canon Alderson officiated and funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr G E Dailley.

Can't really add much to what's been posted by others seventyplus.
He married Mary Ann Terry, Q3 1873, Cuckfield, Sussex. A long way from home ???? They don't appear to have had any children.
