Hi
I am new to Roots Chat and need to contact someone offline who was last online in November. We have the same ancestors in common. Can anyone please let me know how I can contact them please. I would have added a bewildered Santa face if that was an option. :-[
Thanks

Hi and welcome to Rootschat
As a new member you have to make 3 posts before you can contact anybody via the personal messaging system within Rootschat.
If you have seen a post from somebody in November - just turn up that post and click on the "Reply" option and tell them of your interest. They will receive an email notification alerting them to your reply

Hi and welcome to Rootschat....if you can find the post where you have a connection then you can send a personal message by clicking onto the text icon on the left beneath the persons name...you need to have posted three times before you can do this....just answer this message twice and then you can contact them.

Welcome from me too. :)
Remember to enable email notifications or you might miss any replies to any threads you post in. On the dark bar at the top of the page go to 'profile'.
Then select any of the pull down options.
On the header (just below the advertisement) on the far left hand side you will see 'profile info' and 'modify profile'.
There is a pull down menu under 'modify profile' and from this you select 'email notifications'.
Make sure the email notification box is ticked. :)
If you tell us the name of the person you wish to contact one of us can contact them on your behalf if you wish? However sometimes if the thread is really old and the member has not been active, or they they may have changed their email address so may not be contactable. I hope this is not the case here.
Good luck.
