Title: Thomas Dobbie and Marion (Mary) Campbell
Post by: ABMartIn on Sunday 28 December 14 07:41 GMT (UK)
I am interested in the family of Thomas Dobbie and Marion Campbell as I tHink their daughter, Grace, married John Craig in Glasgow in 1834. If anyone have any knowledge of this family I would be very pleased to hear from them. Thank you. ABMartin

Hi, the records prior to 1855 do not list the names of parents of the couple marrying. The following is a transcription of the marriage  of John & Grace.

Marriage January 1834

John Craig, flesher, Bridgeton, and Grace Dobbie residing there, married at Greenhead 28 January 1834 by the Rev. Alexander Harney, minister of the Relief Chapel, Calton

Hope this helps, Kim

Many thanks Kim. Filled in another gap. However cannot find anything about Grace Dobbie's husband's origins (john Craig). He was a flesher (butcher & continued his trade here in Adelaide after migrating in 1851. Probably not established church. Bruce

Hi, would you possibly have any other information about John Craig- maybe from a death cert? Concerning the time period & the fact of there being no census returns, you need more to go on. If you have anything else. I would be glad to look further. Kim
