I've read an item about the Flett family from the Orkeny's by "baztull" where they have information on the Flett family .
My great grand mother was a Tulloch, Her mother was Jean Flett/father was James Tulloch sailor
& died on the ship 'DEE' They resided in Harray. It's the Flett family I'm interested in as they go back to the Sinclair Earldom. in around 1525 , where James Flett married Cristane Sinclair. It Cristane Sinclair's parents who I'm interested in. :)

Hello: Bastull
My G-grandmother was a Anna Tulloch, her parents were James Tulloch/Jean Flett of Hyval. James was a sailor on the ship Dee where he died, he was brought home for burial at Sandwick Cemetery rather than at sea. Jean became a midwife to raise her children. When my g-grandmother came to Canada, she also became a midwife & would go around to the farms delivering the new born.
Jean Flett came from Harray.
It's the Flett family I'm interested in as they go back to the Sinclair Earldom in around 1525/30,
where James Flett married Cristane Sinclair. I would like to know who are Cristane Sinclair's parents.
Also have you read the 'Earldom of Orkney 1299-1614' by J.S. Clouston. I believe it states the Tulloch's came from Norway. hear from you soon, Magaill

Hi Magaill
My G-Grandfather was John Tulloch, son of James Tulloch/Jean Flett he emigrated to Canada 1859-1860 with the Hudson Bay Company (recorded by the HBC)were he married into the local community to a to a local family called Gibson who was married into the local tribes people (records from HBC and Metis National Council), I am sorry but I do not go back that far with the Flett,s as I had a very hard time of tracking them from about 1700 as it seems the name Tulloch and Flett was as common as Jones in Wales, if you want I can give you quite a bit of info on the Tulloch side from when John went to Canada, If you look up the book "three trails home" they are mentioned in there as one of the founder members who established the town of Mirror in Alberta Kind regards Baztull :

Hello bastull
John Tullock would have been Anna's older brother. Anna came to Canada in 1856 meeting James Stanger on board ship & were married in Paris, Ontario in 1858.
I scanned the book Three Trails Home. Yes I would appreciated knowing more information on the Tulloch family. I think we should do this via our private e-mail, I'll leave it in you ball park.
I do have a couple photos of Tulloch home/tombstone.
