I'm planning a trip to Wigan sometime in the new year and just wondering if anyone can help with where I need to go to look at Parish Records etc? Also hoping to visit Lower Ince Cemetery and All Saints Church. :)
Thank you in advance!

Depending on what period you are interested in, images of Wigan parish records are viewable on ancestry:
Wigan Baptisms, Marriages & Burials 1580-1812

Wigan Baptisms 1813-1911

Wigan Marriages 1754-1926

Wigan Burials 1813-1979

According to the details on the site, the records are held at Wigan Archives. They would most likely hold other records for Wigan too.
If you don't have a subscription but are resident in the UK, you may find your local library has a subscription.

It is worth visiting their website, the archives seem to be in Leigh town hall, not Wigan itself.
The section. "How to use the archives" is worth a look

In pre internet days it was Wigan History Shop, now - http://wlct.org/wigan/museums-archives/heritage-services/heritage-services.htm - so worth phoning them in advance.

That "Wiganworld" site is really likely to be very useful. Do explore it.
I found a great deal of help through it, it's really worthwhile using that before you go. There's lots of stuff on burials there, and really helpful and knowledgeable people on the forum, who are very generous both with time and information. If you register on their forum, you can post questions there that will help you to make the best use of your time there, and know where best to find which information.

Hope I am in time. All registers of churches are in Museum of Wigan Life at the bottom of Library St which is in the centre of Wigan as is Wigan Parish Church. You need to book a time to use the machines in order to see most of the registers but some books are also held. All details are on Wigan world web site. Ince Cemetery is on the main road out of Wigan A577 towards Warrington. Good Luck!

sorry wrong road number! The road to Warrington that runs past the cemetery at Lower Ince is A573
