Hello,
I am trying to locate obituaries for the following two Troughton brothers in the Toronto Star.
George Troughton, b. abt. 1908 and Thomas Frederick Troughton known as "Fred", b. abt 1909
Their deaths occurred between 1952 and 1996. I have lots of trouble with the index provided on the Toronto website and was hoping someone may have a better look-up method. :D :D

Hi,
Looking, but the boys are elusive!!
Did I give you their Mom's date of death yet... can't remember. If not, Hannah Farrow Troughton died on Jun 3 1937 at her late residence 13 Raybould Ave. In her 64th year. Wife of George Albert. Interment Prospect Cemetery (Toronto Star, June 4 1937, page 34)

Finally found Thomas Frederick...
He died on Jun 5, 1983 at the Mississauga General Hospital. In his 74th year. Husband of the late Georgie. Father of S (husband B Tee) and F (wife K). Grandchildren listed. Brother of Nancy Badley and Anne Floyd. No brother George mentioned, so he likely died before 1983. Interment Prospect Cemetery. Toronto Star, June 8 1983, page C27

A huge thank you Run Kitty! Don't know how you find these Toronto Star Obits but you do and I am so grateful. Thanks for letting me know the date and page of the Obit, this surely makes finding it easy. The only way I find them is if I have the exact date of death and then I can leaf thru the papers around that date. You're a real pro!

How do I/ where can I search the Toronto Star index for obituaries in 1920's please?
-
Hi,
You can look here - it is a paid site, but not very expensive. They recently had a few days of free access Perhaps that will happen again sometime soon??
http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/thestar/search.html
Some libraries offer free access to this database. You can check with yours to see if you can get it.
If you post your question, there are several of us who can take a quick peek for you.

Any hints how to get obituaries..?? ThankYou!!
I am looking for John Franklin Smith death Dec 24 1944 Toronto.
