Hi Everyone,
If you have time, I would really appreciate it if you would brighten up this young man. He lied about his age and enlisted in WWI at the age of 15. Unfortunately he was killed - very sad. I'd like to include his story in the family history I'm compiling and would love his picture to be a bit more snazzy.
Sorry for the quality - it's taken from a newspaper picture.
Thank you...........JJ

Thank you so much Steve, Japeflakes and Pat. I love the colour and can't believe you've all turned a dark newspaper print into lovely photographic images of him. You've helped smarten Maurice up nicely, I really appreciate your time and talent. :)
Merry Xmas......JJ x

Hi Brit2015 & Carolyn,
I'm sorry for my late "thank you" reply - have been distracted by the festive goings on and haven't check my emails for a while....
Thank you so much for taking the time to work on Maurice - you've made him look like the sweet young man I imagine him to be. Hope you both have a lovely Christmas. Thanks again.

Hi,
Minor improvement.
Not sure about inserting epaulette upon right shoulder, as I am unfamiliar with theatre of war uniforms.
Kind regards

Hi George and Terry,
What amazing work you've done - you've both turned a scratchy, pixilated newsprint picture into a lovely photograph of this young man. Thank you so much for your time and care with him.
Thought you might be interested in what The Blue Mountain Echo (13/10/1916) reported after his death...
"It's no use mother, I'm big and strong and by the time I'm at the Front I'll just be right for fighting."
"But my boy, you are only a child - only 15 years of age, and it would be wrong to go."
"I've asked you, mother, square, but if you say no - I'll go just the same, so be as good a mater as you've always been and let me go."
Maurice fought in the trenches at Gallipoli, saw service in Egypt and was shot and killed at Pozieres.
Thanks again,
JJ

D_ and Restorer45,
How is this possible I keep asking myself - what amazing work you have both done. D_ you have given him a real twinkle in his eye - fabulous. And Restorer45 what stunning art work - both absolutely wonderful.
