Charles alfred lyle beeston i was informed he was aboriginal decent. I have 2 son which r his grandchildren
-
Are you looking for information about him ?
Your Charles Alfred Lyle Beeston would seem to be a different family to this English Alfred Beeston.
There is a Charles Alfred L Beeston who died in 1973, and his father was Richard McKara or Merkara or McKenna Beeston who died in 1953. This is probably the Charles who was married in 1939. It appears Charles had at least two brothers, this family lived at Kahibah near Charlestown.

Hi Sharon :)
Welcome to rootschat :)
Is this your Charles Alfred Lyle BEESTON who appears to have been born in Australia in 1914 so doubt there is a connection with a person born in England who migrated here in 1912.

Unfortunately pearl is no longer living she died about 15 - 20 yrs ago

Sharon I haven't made myself clear which isn't unusual :-[ ;)
We can discuss and research deceased persons but not name any person who is living.
I couldn't find a death registration for Pearl Naomi but found this death notice for the person who was enrolled to vote at the same address as Charles Alfred in 1954.

Sharon, the first two things you should do, is check the records at www.bdm.nsw.gov.au
The second thing you should do , is visit www.nla.gov.au and use their "Trove" system. It's like google. Start with the query "Beeston Kahibah", and then try the names of the people it turns up.
In 20 minutes I found out more than I need to know about your Beeston forebears, including a photo of your deceased ex-mother-in law, who had her tenth child at the age of 30, and looked in remarkably good shape considering.
It would appear that your C.A.L Beeston ( decd. 1973 ) originally lived at Kahibah, he had three brothers who were in trouble with the law ; he wasn't. His father Richard apparently owned a quarry there. And later at Warner's Bay.
It would appear that Richard married in 1910. He died in 1953 and his wife in 1954.
It isn't at all clear where Richard came from.
The next thing you should do, is get transcriptions of the marriage and death certificates for C.A.L Beeston and Richard Beeston, and see where the information leads you from there.
-
Sharon perhaps that is your online tree on ancestry?
Richard BEESTON's father was noted as Richard on his death reg and there are births with Richard BEESTON in Qld.
https://www.bdm.qld.gov.au/IndexSearch/BirIndexQry.m
One of the many articles on TROVE about Charles Alfred's brother mentioned an Antony from Qld.

So it seems Charles' father Richard was not Aboriginal. But his mother may have been.
Her father Henry DEMAR is mentioned in newspapers as living in Tamworth, which fits. Might be worth following that lead too.
Maria's parents' marriage:
7209/1887 DEMAR HENRY / RUHL ADELA / TAMWORTH
Her birth:
34367/1889 DEMAR MARIA G A / HENRY / ELIZABETH A / TAMWORTH
Adela died in 1920 in Tamworth, as daughter of James & Doris.

Hi Sharon,
From Richard Merkera BEESTON's death certificate (in his probate file) it appears that he was born at sea (suez canal) and his father was Richard BEESTON (grave-digger), mother unknown.
Richard had 7 named children living at his death including Charles A.L BEESTON (and 2 females deceased).
I have sent you a link to the probate files
regards
Ros

Hi All,
NSW Electoral Roll 1903 NEW ENGLAND, polling at Tamworth.
Adelia Elizabeth DEMAR of Tamworth, domestic duties
Henry Max DEMAR of Tamworth, carpenter
The 1903 roll was the first time females were eligible to enrol. They needed to be locals, aged 21 and over, and of course, British Subjects.
Hi there Mollipops
I am a tad confuddled with your assumption about the possibility of an Aboriginal heritage stemming from Charles maternal line.
May I mention that during the 19th century in NSW the surname RUHL was, at least from my understanding, associated with German born immigrants to NSW. Perhaps I have mis-read your post.
The 1887 NSW BDM marriage certificate, if fully reconciled by NSW BDM should display the birth places for both the bride and the groom, and the names of their respective parents, including their mums' maiden and former surnames.
Cheers, JM
