Title: Samuel Sampson Harral
Post by: lennonjohn on Friday 28 November 14 20:48 GMT (UK)
Hi there,

I'm looking for Samuel Sampson Harral born 19/12/1800 sheepscar, Leeds to parents Benjamin and Mary (nee Harrison) died 1865 Liverpool.
Samuel married Elizabeth Witton in 1819 Leeds, St Peter (6 children) and Alice Hurst (nee Barton) Walton on the hill, Lancashire 1851 (1 child)

I have as yet been unable to locate Samuel in any census
I have birth and death for all children apart from Jemima Harrison Harral, only the baptism record. A marriage or death would be great.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi - please can you clarify Samuel's birthdate? It cannot be 1800 if he married in 1919 and died in 1965.  The second marriage in 1851 is puzzling too.

Hi again,

Samuel started out as a tailor but by 1846 he was a publican. 3 of the children from his 1st marriage had his occupation as an inn keeper on their marriage certs.
His marriage to Alice Hurst in 1851 has his occupation as publican (although he is now a bachelor) on their daughters marriage cert he is now a farmer, confusing.

So this could be him on the 1851 census, his daughter Betsy was in Liverpool with her family at that time also.

Thanks for your time and help

 Hello LennonJohn,
If you are still researching Samuel , maybe we can help each other. Samuel is the brother of Joseph Harral who I am researching on behalf of a friend.Joseph was the witness at  Samuel's wedding to Elizabeth Witton .
