Title: Sarah Dunkin from Camelford
Post by: trafalgar05 on Thursday 27 November 14 14:47 GMT (UK)
Hi

I wonder if someone could help me with a look up as I do not live in Cornwall. I am trying to see if Sarah Dunkin is an ancestor. I have her born in Camelford to William, baptised 24 April 1763. Her mother may be Dorothy Julyan and she possibly has siblings Elizabeth, Dorothy, George and Ann. What I don't know is what happened to her. I can find no online record of marriage or death in Camborne. Can anyone help please?

Many thanks

Ancestor means that you would be descended from her.
So what research route did you reach to get to her in the first place?

OK. I have Sarah Dunkin marrying in Bere Ferrers (just over into Devon) but she cannot be found anywhere there or nereby prior to this. I have a cousin who has researched her husbands (Matthias Rowe) family in huge depth but cannot find her. We do know she was born about 1763.

I felt the name was Cornish so started looking around the online records for Cornish parishes and eventually came across a Sarah Dunkin baptised in Camborne April 1763. Right year, right name. However I cannot see what happened to her. If she married or died then she would be eliminated. If not then ......................

Regards, Allan

I can't see a marriage or burial on Cornwall OPC?

But their coverage isn't 100%, so she may be just missing?
