I want to read early copies of the newspapers from County Derry. Can we find them online? Does anyone know if they are available at the National Library in Canberra?

Hi Princess,
As you are in Canberra, as per your profile, perhaps you can contact the NLA directly?

I left it a bit late today to contact the library and was just wondering if anyone knew. I will make contact tomorrow. Also I thought they may be online and I could start reading through them this evening.
Thanks Majm.

These Irish Newspaper Archives are currently online via the NLA if you have a library card:

The Londonderry Sentinel (sp?) 1828-1840 and Londonderry Journal (similar years) are available at the Tamworth Family History Room on microfilm in North Street Tamworth. I bought them from PRO London in about 1988 and loaned them to this group recently. I don't think they would allow them to leave their rooms.

Thank you Brian. It appears there is nothing in them relating to my family. Would be a great read one day.
