Hi, I am looking for the death of Leeman Clough, and any other info if possible. He was born in Ashton under Lyne in 1887 and emigrated in 1923, along with his wife Edith Mather, to join the Ringling Circus (family story). In 1940 they were living in Muskegon, Michigan, where I believe the circus was based. Any help much appreciated,
Alison

They came in via Canada, seen here crossing the border:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XL9B-6WL
Found in the Stage Year Book, 1913:
LITTLE LEEMAN CLOUGH, The Tangle Feet Wooden Shoe Dancer, Touring with Captain Grahames. Permanent Address: 171, Old Street, Ashton-u.-Lyne
So perhaps in his younger years he was involved with the circus/performing arts more generally, and that's where the family story came from?

Hi, that is just wonderful information and maybe he did perform in the circus or something similar, more research needed I think,
Many thanks
