Has anybody any knowledge of the above marrying after 1911, she was born in 1894 in Llanwrst and was the Daughter of John and Anne.
I have been told there is a family tree on Ancestry showing her dying in Trafford Cheshire in 1978, can't find a death for Ellen Williams but of course she may have married.
Would be grateful for any information as I have hit a wall.

There is a Nellie Williams that died in Llanwrst in 1920, could this be her?

There's also this one:
Name: Nellie Williams
Birth Date: 16 Jun 1894
Date of Registration: Mar 1981
Age at Death: 86
Registration district: Swansea
Inferred County: West Glamorgan
Volume: 27
Page: 3048

The Llanwrst death is a possibility Catfordcrooner, (love the name), will check it out.
Thanks

Thanks Romilly, i think this is a long shot because it assumes she never married and moved to South Wales. Martha Williams was a very common name at the time hence my dilemma.
Thanks anyway

Are you looking for a Nellie(Ellen) or a Martha Williams, soldiermawr?
Romilly.

Both Romilly, please.
I am really hoping that a descendant of one of them will spot this and fill in some gaps. I have the history of the others and have spent some time in North Wales doing research, there was infact a piece i did on William published in the North Wales Weekly News earlier this year.

Hi again soldiermawr,
The problem with a name like Williams in Wales...is that there are so many! (As I'm sure you know). On the Find my Past Site for example, - putting 'Nellie(Ellen) Williams, Born 1894 Llanwrst, Wales, - brings up 35 results. Here are a few of the (many) Marriages for a Nellie(Ellen) Williams:

The problem is that there are too many to make ordering a Marriage Cert viable... You really need further info... Was she a relative? And do you have any more info at all about her?
As a suggestion, - why don't you put all of the info you already have on this family, - and as you say, perhaps it will ring some bells for someone on here. Worth a try anyway.
Best Wishes, Romilly.

It is possible that the tree you refer to has her parents as John Williams and Anne Thomas, and she married an Arthur Wilfred Ashley in Stockport in 1925.You would,of course, have to verify this independently.

Thanks Roger, much appreciated

Hi Roger, that Marriage shows the Bride as Helen Williams on IGI and on freebmd, however her proper name was Ellen so it may have been an entry mistake. May be worth getting the certificate.

A couple of comments:-
1.If the person who published the tree were right about the parents,it lends weight to the likelihood that they were right about the marriage/death.Do you know if they were right about the parents?
2.There is a death record for Ellen Ashley (1894-1978) in Trafford Lancashire.

Hi Roger , parents definaltey match but then again William Williams and Anne Thomas are not unusual names in Wales.
I tend to try to prove a lineage before I accept it I have seen so many wrong trees on the internet.
I did look at the Ashleys and if you follow it through there would appear to be two Daughter/siblings who were living with Nellies Son,if it was her Son, and are still living at the address now. The marriage to the Ashleys does have the wrong christian name though.

There is a Helena Jane Williams birth registration in Llanrwst 1894.Perhaps it his her tree on Ancestry.
