Has anybody come across Martha Williams born 1885 Bettws y Coed but brought up- in Llanwrsyt .
Father was John Williams born about 1857 Llanwrst and Mother was Anne (Thomas) born 1859.
Siblings Laura Anne, later Owen died 1966 Morfa Nefyn, William Williams born 1888 died 1954 Nefyn, there was another Sister Nellie or Ellen born about 1894 who i have no trace of . Both Sister were mentioned in Williams Army discharge papers in 1919.

There is a tree on Ancestry with this family which states Martha had 4 siblings, Laura A born 1884 Betws Y Coed,William born 1888 Betws Y Coed, Mary born & died 1891 Llanrwst and Ellen born 10th August 1894 Llanrwst she died 1978 Trafford, Cheshire.
Martha married Robert Wynne 1910. I'm not sure if this information is in fact true and suggest you check it.

Thank you Ellen that is very helpful and looks like the right family. William is my Grandfather. I don't subscribe to Ancestry so I might pop into the local archive centre to see if I can have a look at this tree.

Hi Gadget, yes thank you got all that, I also have Nellie living with her Grandmother in 1901 and 1911 in Llanwrst.
William left home to join the army in 1906 and when he left in 1919 it states on his discharge papers that William did not know of his Fathers whereabouts. I believe he was working for his Daughters Husband in the Nefyn area but have never been able to prove it. He also lists his Sisters using their Maiden names which leads me to assume they are single at this time.

Have checked the Marriage you mention for Martha and I have the certificate. The Marriage is wrong as the Father for Marthar is incorrect as are the address and occupation.

I have been back to look at the tree and they also have a marriage for Ellen to Arthur Wilfred Ashley who was born 1901 Lower Withington, Cheshire died 1978 Stockport. They had one son but it doesn't show his name, as he is probably still alive. If you would like any more information from the tree let me know.

Morning Ellen,have looked at Arthur Wilfred Ashley, the A W Ashley born 1901 Whitchurch S Registration District seems to have Married Beatrice Hewitt in Dec 1925 same district. Could you have another look to see if the Marriage shows any more detail on the tree please. I have followed this individual through and found a Son and two possible Daughters/Siblings still living, still not convinced it is correct though.

I have had another look and found another tree with the same family. They both have the Marriage as Wilfred Ashley and Helen Williams (not Ellen but that could be a mistake in translation) at Stockport Cheshire 1925 Oct Nov Dec quarter. Volume 89 page 141.
On this second tree Ellen & Wilfred have 3 boys who are Charles L Ashley born 1926 Stockport, John Cyril Ashley born 9/7/1931 died 25/4/2014 Glan Clwyd, Denbighshire and the third is Private.
Wilfred's parents are Charles Henry Ashley born 1871 Chesterton, Staffs and Elizabeth Ann Foster Blanchard born 1868 Henbury, Cheshire.
There is more info on the marriages of Charles & John if you need it just let me know as I really don't mind looking for you.
