Title: Mary Neil born Bantry, Cork, Ireland c.1838
Post by: catfordcrooner on Monday 17 November 14 13:51 GMT (UK)
Mary married James Thomas Welch in 1871 at St. Saviour's Southwark. They are my 2x Great Grandparents. I can't find any history of where Mary lived before the marriage, when she arrived in England or who her parents were.   :(

Does her marriage certificate not list her father's name and occupation?

Sorry for misleading people
I do know that her father was Daniel Neil. I know Mary's whereabouts in 1861 and 1871. Daniel was a clerk according to what was written when Mary married :-[

Assuming that she was Catholic, parish registers for Bantry are available at www.irishgenealogy.ie. Mary Neil is a common name.
