Post by: juno on Sunday 16 November 14 15:45 GMT (UK)
May I request advice on the following please.

Looking for the burial of a Richard Massey, bap. 1736 at Rosthern.
A farmer/husbandman of Ollerton near Knutsford.
Wife - Sarah Cherry buried at Knutsford ,St Johns. in 1775, when he was 40.( she 43).
Have searched Rostherne and Knutsford films, because this name is often mis- transcribe on web sites, as

Maffey, Massie,Molloy.etc.
Two children baptized at Mobberley, where Cherry family lived.

Can anyone suggest possibles please

Yes its the best site, but they are still a third short of registers available.
Richard was 40 at his wife's death so may have married again, there were no young children. One of his sons is buried in Knutsford as a married adult in 1811.
Richard had been farming in Ollerton for 15 years so its hard to guess where he might go on to.when his 'roots' are in Knutsford.
The name is often incorrectly transcribed as Maffey.
