Post by: Dalet on Sunday 16 November 14 09:25 GMT (UK)
Would anyone have access to Portland Victoria Cemetery Records

I have John Carter ATTWOOD died 1961 at Portland

also his son Charles James born 1918 died 1957 there

Another son William George born 1914 and his wife Dorothy May Kempton may also be buried there

A daughter Mary Ann Mabel born 1916 - probably more difficult to trace

There is a Henry Ivan Attwood 1921 - 1994 buried there but I dont if he is in this family

Thanks

Dale

Henry Ivan ATTWOOD born at Portland has a WW2 service record and n.o.k. was named Mabel ATTWOOD ... most likely his mother?

Thanks Essie - he would be a son of John Carter Attwood and Mabel Meek - this is the family I am searching for.

I am trying to find the burial location for Alice Attwood. I am also trying to find her parents, her date of birth and marriage date and place. I think her maiden name may have been Beames but am unsure if this is correct.

A previous lookup showed her husband
ATTWOOD, Henry Ivan. Born 6 Apr 1921.Died 25 Sep 1994. Aged   73.Hus of Alice. Father of Ted.

Hoping someone can help.

Hi Aileen,

It is quite possible she is still alive  - unless you know differently.

Thank you. That is a possibility. I do not know if she is still alive. The only tree I can see on Ancestry has her as being deceased 03 June 2013 but there is no source for the entry.
I just wondered if this was the case perhaps she is buried with her husband at Portland.
Thank you for your reply.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your help.
Do you know where I could find their marriage record and the parents of Alice Verna and her date of birth?

Once again thank you for your help.
Aileen

Henry Ivan ATTWOOD & Alice Verna were obviously married after WW2:

As her birth is outside the 100 year limit access to those details are unavailable also.

I suggest you search TROVE & see if you can find anything in regards to their marriage/births/children, etc:
