If possible I would appreciate a look up for John Adams in 1841, the only information I have is as follows:

1851 Census for Greasby

John Adams  Widower,   69 ag lab, Ches Saughall  born abt 1782
John              Son           40  ag lab, Lan Liverpool                  1811
Sarah            Dau in law 39           Lan Huyton                     1812
Mary              g/ daur      14           Lan Kirby                        1837

I have a death certificate for John Adams, he died age 70 at Caldy, present at the death was William Rutter.

Hi Peter

Thank you very much, I realize the 1841 doesn't give too much but the information you have found gives me enough to follow up on.

Could I ask you for one more please.

Mary Jackson born Irby 1841 her father was Joseph, occupation blacksmith.
I have my fingers crossed she was born prior to the census, but if I only get her father and mother that will be something.

Thanks again
Sue

Hi Sue

I think I remember doing this search for someone else a long while ago, but we were never able to find Elizabeth Jackson/Sherlock in 1841.

I have her family in 1841 (details below) I also noticed you haven't asked for any 1851, do you already have these for Joseph and Elizabeth and also the Sherlocks ?

Nathaniel Adams b.1843 Antrim and other Adams had a master grocer business allegedly called Adams Bros in Kirkdale Rd, Kirkdale Liverpool, and then owned The Seasons residence 65 Anfield Rd, Liverpool and married the daughter of Rev William Wilkinson an local Liverpool Primitive Methodist minister; and a John Adams in Birkenhead and others in Wirra area.. Also, connecter are his next genetaion up, being the Adams’ gravestones immediately inside the Tullyrusk cemetery gate (apparently twins Robert Adams of Ballynacoy B.1811 and Thomas Adams of Hillhead Farm, Derrykillultagh (Hillhead Lane opposite the filterbeds, off the Lisburn to Glenavy Rd, North Ireland); also a suspected brother John Adams. I believe I am a direct descendent of Thomas Adams, some of whose offspring via his wife Catherine were John, Nathaniel, Thomas, Emma, Susannah, Katherine/Sarah went to Liverpool and set up a business, then dispersed around the globe. The Hillhead farm is now apparently split and owned by the McCartney’s, Ferguson’s and possibly Acheson, descendents of the Adams girls left behind after the boys left during the mid 1800’s for Liverpool and other parts of the world. To this extent, you will note I am located in Sydney, Australia and contactable via adams(at)mypostbox.com

Steve

Since my initial  post in 2005 I have made considerable progress with the Jackson/Sherlock family. Is there something I can help you with?

I would be interested to know your connection to the family.
