I'm researching my McLaughlin family from the town land of Ballagh and would love to hear from anyone else who has ancestors from here. :)

Would be a good idea to include more details to help anyone reading the topic decide if there might be a connection. Ballagh and Goorey are both townlands in Co. Donegal and McLaughlin is not an uncommon surname.

As aghadowey says you would need to narrow your search down, in the 1911 census there were 8 different McLaughlin families living in the townland of Ballagh, Malin.

McLaughlin/McLoughlin is the most common name in Inishowen, in the parish of Clonca where Ballagh is situated there 138 McLaughlins recorded in the Griffith Valuation of 1858

I'm trying to figure out who Micahael was related to if anyone in Ballagh.
I do know that members of the Collins family were sponsors for some Bridget's children.
Michael lived on land occupied by the Duncan family in Drimagee and his occupation is given as farm servant on his sons marriage certificate.
I have a information on other families in the towlnand and would appreciate hearing from anyone else who has an interest in the area.

Hi there,
My Henderson family come from Goorey. David Henderson listed in Griffiths passed to his son John and then his son Joseph. The family moved out of the Goorey farm in the 1940s. I suspect the Henderson family in Ballagh is directly related as the two farms back on to each other. So far I have been unable to find a direct link.
Would be appreciative of any information on either Henderson family.
