Back in the mid 1960s I scribbled a very bad family tree as dictated by my grandmother, Lucy Tomlinson.
She told me she had a brother, Alfred Tomlinson, who died young. Round about 1890. I have searched the records a number of times on Findmypast and Ancestry and familysearch, and found nothing. Does anyone have any clues as to where I go now? Thanks

Is Tomlinson your Grans married name?
If so, what was her maiden name.
