Post by: loopylu on Monday 10 November 14 01:18 GMT (UK)
Hi Guys not sure if this is right place to put this but, this is an essay i did for my uni course and it's been published on-line.

Apologies if it's in the wrong place.

Informative Article - We think of "War" in so many ways, but the practical issues of how things were dealt with isn't often spoken about.  I don't have many ancestors who were in WW1 - have a few in WW2.  Have wondered why so few of mine enlisted in WW1 - age, circumstances etc - but also some were - what do they call them -  occupations which were essential to be kept at home...  can't think of the name.

Thank you for bringing to our attention the experiences of the funeral directors who must have had years of such sad and traumatic work.  Well done!  I hope you went well in your Uni course.

Well I did win a clay pigeon shooting competition once. But that was absolute complete luck.  :)

loopylu - Great post. I'll move the topic over to the WWII board. :)

Yes, very well done loopylu. I trust you got a good mark for it. Very informative and well worth everyone reading it. I am wondering whether the link you provided shouldn't be on  one of the Resources pages somewhere.

Thats a really interesting article. I never thought about that aspect.  I have seen pictures of military funerals but who covered that aspect never impinged on me.  A very necessary and important part of our life and death!
