Title: Deportation
Post by: JohnW1972 on Saturday 08 November 14 08:05 GMT (UK)
my great grandfather was recommended for deportation at Birmingham courts in 1914
where could i look up the record for this?
This was in a local newspaper.
His solicitor forwarded a petition for a
favourable reconsideration to the Home Secretary.
Any help appreciated, thanks.

You could try to contact here:

http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/cs/Satellite?c=Page&childpagename=Lib-Central-Archives-and-Heritage%2FPageLayout&cid=1223092759778&pagename=BCC%2FCommon%2FWrapper%2FWrapper

It says that many records are closed for 100 years, so you may have to wait a year.

His appeal will be held at Kew as part of the Govt. Archive collection.
Neither this or the above are digitalised & will have to be searched manually.
