The Albone side of my family I have traced back to Thomas Albone b 20 January 1715 if I can help anyone with this. Does anyone have any info on ancestors of Thomas?

Hello Pamela. Would you have a marriage between a Christopher Smith and Elizabeth Albone 1849. :) Lyn also in W.A
-
Hi Lyn
I have Elizabeth Albone born 1849 and one born 1850 but do not have either of their marriages and the only other Elizabeth Albone I have was born 1788 but I will go through my records and see if I can help you. Where in WA are you?
All the best
Pamela

Hello again Pamela. These are the details I have for the marriage of Smith to Albone: There's a marriage on 16 July 1849 between Christopher Smith and Elizabeth Albone.
There was an Elizabeth Albone christened on 24 Aug 1828 which fits with the census age of Elizabeth Smith, but bear in mind there were more Albones than Smiths in the Biggleswade area!
According to the IGI they, or presumably they, had three children in Biggleswade, two of whom died young.
Elizabeth chr 21 Sept 1849
Cornelius chr 16 Jul 1852 bur 11 Nov 1852
Edward chr 21 Apr 1854 bur 4 Dec 1855
By the way I live near Bibra Lake :) Lyn

hi i have an mary elizabeth hibbert marrying a james albone in 1879 in arlesey bedfordshire is there any connection? thanks....gill
-
Dear Gill and Lyn
I am currently databasing all Albons who hail from Bedfordshire.
Gill,
I have James and Mary Elizabeth Hibbert living in Tottenham 1891 and Islington 1901. So far I have 4 children, Daisy (who died 1884), Isabella, Arthur & Harry J. Mary Elizabeth calls herself Elizabeth.
James was son of Samuel. I do not have his birth cert but beleive this maybe from the marriage of Samuel and Maria Wiltshire. Does this fit with what you have?
Lyn,
I do not have this Elizabeth in my database. You say you got this info from the IGI, is this from extracted records from Parish registers or from a members file?
kind reagrds

Hello Denise.
The information I have came from the IGI. I don't think it's an extracted record, as I always record it if it is. I have a marraige between Christopher Smith and Elizabeth Albone, 16/7/1849, and a Elizabeth Albone christening, 24/8/1828 in Bedfordshire. I don't have any more information I'm afraid. :) Lyn

Hi Lyn
I re-looked at my data from Biggleswade and I found the christening of Elizabeth 24/8/1828. Unfortunately I can't say at this point whether she went on to marry Christopher Smith., but so far I have no other Elizabeth Albones born Biggleswade around this date.

:)hi, yes that is correct. isabella mary albone their daughter is on the censuses as being born in arlesey beds but she is born at 33 netherton road totenham on the 5 /dec /1889. father james albone and mother mary elizabeth albone formerly hibbert. she was registered on the 5th of jan1890. by her mother. isabel may as she was known to her children married ernest hibbert in 1909 in islington. they had lots of children one of them being my huspand brian's dad frederick james hibbert born in arlesey beds in 1924. don't know if you want any info on these or ernies dad frederick hibbert who was christened in ickleford herts but don't think was born there...gill
-
Gill,
Do you have Isabel's father James' birth cert? Are his parents Samuel & Maria?
Denise
-
Hi Lyn,
Unfortunately I have just found another Elizabeth Albone born c 1826. She married George Crouch in Biggleswade, 1848 (IGI extracted record). I think I have found her in the 1861/71/81 census' in which they say she was born Potton abt 1824-6.
Although these seem to imply this Elizabeth was two years older I think we need the marriage cert for both mrrgs to find out the father of each Elizabeth to determine which one mrrd Christopher.

Hello Pamela, I don't know if this is anygood, but I have a Ann Allebones who comes from that area. She was baptised about 1741, and married to John Roberts on 16 Mar 1766 in Eyeworth ?, I think. This info is from the Keffords family web, which is extensively researched.
Early info is hard to find, and leads are sometimes useful, if nogood ,bin it.

Hi Gillian
I have three possible James whose father's are a Samuel
1. born abt 1852 to Samuel Albon & Sarah Presland. Found unmarried in the 1861/71/81/91 census with after Samuel - so not this one.
2. born abt 1850 to Samuel Albon & Eliza Roberts. Went on to marry an Emily from Ickelford and found in all census' - so not this one.
which leaves
3. James born abt 1860 to Samuel Albon & Maria Wiltshire (mrrd 13 Jan 1839, Arlesey). Living 1861 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire with his family (recorded as Harbon) and 1871 with brother Josiah in Ashwell, Hertfordshire before marrying Mary Elizabeth Hibbert. James was probably born in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire (1871 census).
Siblings:-
Josiah b10 Jun 1839 - d14 May 1842
George b26 Mar 1842 - d17 Jan 1902
Eliza Ann b22 Dec 1844 - d22 Oct 1902
Josiah b30 Aug 1847 - d24 Dec 1912
Sarah Elizabeth b4 Jun 1851 -
James' father Samuel was born abt 1819, Arlesey to Joseph Albon & Susannah Hall (mrrd 21 Feb 1811)

Don't know if this will be any help, but there is an Albone listed on one of the war memorials, near to Benington in Herts. Sorry but I don't remember the christian name, or the exact location. :) Lyn
