Just started researching the families of William Edward GORIN, born Ledbury, Herefordshire 17/11/1919, and Freda Pearl JENNER, born Lewes, Sussex, 01/06/1923. They were married in the 1940s. Birth certs on order, but anybody have anything at all on their likely respective families?
-
According to FreeBMD, Freda's mother's maiden name was JENNER, which often implies that the mother wasn't married, but in this case you might want to follow up a marriage in Lewes reg. district between Harry D JENNER and Hilda B JENNER in Sep Q 1919. (Lewes 2b 525)
Harry David JENNER - b. Jun Q 1891 (Lewes 2b 191)
Hilda Blanche JENNER - b. Sep Q 1898 (Lewes 2b 182)
Do you have access to census info?
(Obviously the birth cert will confirm if it's the right couple, but they look possible.)
-
Thanks for that; very helpful! Will be arranging census access soon.

Similarly, William's mother's maiden name was Daw.

Thanks to KGarrad, the Gorin family shown in 1901 are indeed the ones I seek; on the 1911 census, mother, father and younger(est) son are in Hereford and all the details match-up perfectly to both censuses and the birth certs I now have. Any hopes of finding the sundry family members on the 1891, 1881, etc, censuses? Possibly around Gloucester, I guess.

Any takers, then, for an Alfred H(enry) GORING, aged circa 17, maybe living with parents (?!?), in 1881, and presumably circa seven years of age in 1871? Around Gloucester?
Cheers.
