Looking for the child of Victor Thomas Bradley Rank: Sergeant
Service Number: 1259352
Royal Air Force
Battalion: 76 Sqdn
KIA 31.8.43
-
Any child is likely to be still alive?
And RootsChat rules do not allow us to mention the names of any living, or potentially living, person?
-
Yes, he was born in 1942 so in his 70's .... With his fathers name ...
-
This is a forum for finding our ancestors, not living relatives as we have a 'no living people' policy here.
You might find useful hints and tips here though.

Ok, thanks

I know we have a 'no living people' policy here but the information in the birth, marriage and death index does not tie up with your posting and his entry on the Commonwealth War Graves site.
Do you have an exact date and place of birth for the son?
-
Thank you - I have a picture of VT Bradley's grave in the Netherlands (died 1943) and it mentions 'baby' - there is a Victor T Bradley born 1942 - mothers maiden name Tomlinson - I guess it might not be his son but it's quite a coincidence...?
-
I think that baby died in 1943 according to the indexes

There is a possible birth registration in Jan/Feb/Mar 1944, you should get that certificate from the General Register Office (www.gro.gov.uk) to make sure it is correct.
If it is correct there is a later marriage and that couple are still alive.

FreeBMD shows there's also a possible sibling* whose birth was registered in Jun qtr 1945 - same surname, same mother's maiden name and same district. (*Obviously Victor could not be the natural father having died in August 1943).
Victor's CWGC record shows his wife's name, and there is a Jun qtr 1943 marriage which may be theirs - if so her maiden name matches the mother's maiden name on the above two birth registrations.
-
Thanks so much - sorry I am struggling here. I can't seem to find any of this! Can you let me know the district - is it registered as Maria Patricia Bradley nee Tomlinson as the mother?

Because this involves living people we cannot post their names but one of the most frequently used used is this
http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
There is a possible birth with this reference
Sep 1942
Rowley R. 6b 1484 mother maiden surname Tomlinson
There is a possible death for this child with this reference
Jun 1943
aged 0 Wolverhampton 6b 550
There is a possible marriage
Jun 1943
Bradley with spouse Wrigglesworth Wakefield 9c 73
and then you can use freebmd to search for births with this combination of surnames.
It is not possible to tell from the index whether these entries are correct but you can research further to see if you can find more information on them or you can pay £9.25 to the General Register Office at Southport (www.gro.gov.uk) for copies of the certificate.
You can also check out for siblings of VT Bradley (born 1921 Thanet) using this site and his parents marriage. As VT Bradley is your uncle I'm assuming that one of his siblings is your parent.
