Title: World War 1 Information
Post by: parkerwitton on Monday 27 October 14 08:05 GMT (UK)
I am led to believe that my Great Grandfather David Swinbank aged 42 was in the army re 1914-18 war.
I have found two references one DLI Service number 205011 the other Northumberland Fusiliers Service number 24531.
In 1916 his son Joseph died in the conflict. Any help would be appreciated.

The other lad served overseas but not in a war zone maybe india or malta.
He was in 1st garrison battalion.

Do you have a date and place of birth for him? (The above 2 entries are on Ancestry).

And have you found him on any of the Censuses?

Romilly.
