Hello,
I could kindly use some help with information regarding Laverne Leonard b.1917 Ontario. The 1921 census records
show Laverne (spelt Laburne) living with his mother Florence Ross Leonard (nee Hoskin) b.1895 Ontario, and his younger sister
Doris Leonard b.1919 Ontario.
The head of household were the parents of Florence, William H & Susannah Hoskin. I believe Laverne was a WWII veteran,
and was married three times, one in British Columbia to Dorothy Murdoch (deceased) around 1954 & twice in Ontario. I cannot seem to find
a marriage record for Laverne's mother Florence. The family are from Perth, Ontario. I did find some voters records for a Laverne Leonard
living in Timmons, Ontario 1957,a Mrs Laverne Leonard & a James Leonard living in Fort William 1963 & again in 1974 James (firefighter)
& Mrs Laverne Leonard (secretary).
William H Hoskin died on June 26 1928 in Mitchell,Perth County,Ontario & Susannah Hoskin died on Dec 13 1932 also in Mitchell. It
would be nice to know where & when Laverne passed away and any children would be a bonus.
Thank you very much.
:)

Hi,
The person from the Timmins area with that name may still be alive. He is mentioned in this obituary as a brother in law. His wife Pauline has predeceased him.

There are several mentions of a Leonard family (names of relatives include Laverne and Pauline) in the Cochrane newspaper. Cochrane is quite close to Timmins.

Claire & RunKitty, your titles of rootschat "Aristocrats" are well deserved. :) I can not thank you enough for the help you have provided. You have just made a certain somebody (the fellow who's family I have been researching) very happy. I have been conducting my own family studies for a number of years and the experts on rootschat have helped me climb over that "brick wall" many times. The pieces of the Laverne Leonard mystery have just fallen into place.
Thank you again. ;D

Just to clarify, you mentioned Perth, Ontario. There is the town of Perth in Lanark County (Eastern Ontario) and the county of Perth in southwestern Ontario, which includes the town of Stratford, about 100 km west of Toronto. The town of Perth is about an hour’s drive west of Ottawa.
