Hi All ,
after any info on John Ilett who died in 1916 in port pirie aged 42 which puts his birth about 1874 , cant seem to find a birth for him at all , his father is Benjamin Ilett .
John Ilett married in 1907 to a Esther Lyons
we have got his marriage and death transcripts but none have mother only father was thinking he might have come to Australia as a young boy .
hoping someone might be able to help in finding out his mothers name and place of birth.

Benjamin ILETT (d. 1908 aged 71y) and Eliza Arabella REVELL (d. 1916 aged 79) had one child registered in Adelaide in 1883. A younger Ben ILETT had children in SA from 1904.
Most likely the family of your John ILETT?

Oaklands Family Tree on A*y states that they arrived in South Australia 24 Dec 1875 aboard the Lady Jocelyn but this is not sourced and there appears to be doubt over the transcription of the names.

SA Records search facility is down once again. So much for the revamped website. The Asssited Immigrants passenger records [index only] are available for you to check the arrival.

Puzzled why people don't write Ancestry ::)
As a relatively new member I noticed that quite a lot of people don't and I thought perhaps it was frowned upon - does seem a bit pointless though. I shall type it in full in future !
Thanks
