Title: Turbitt-Turbett ancestors
Post by: garthj on Thursday 16 October 14 21:09 BST (UK)
My ancestor James Turbitt married Catherine Graham in St Macartan's Cathedral, Clogher in 1858 and came to New Zealand in 1864. His older brother Michael Turbett (the name was spelled differently on various documents and on emigration) was also married in St McCartan's to Mary Donnelly of Augher (father John) in 1853 and went to the US (Providence, Rhode Island I think) some time after. Their father James Turbitt was a shoemaker.
I would be most grateful for any information about these families, especially their connections in Ireland.

Thanks for the tip.
I see I misspelled Macartan (Clogher) in my previous post and that Macartin (Enniskillen) has a different spelling.
