Looking for where this surname is common. From my mtDNA, I found I am connected to a Bernard (Bryan) Kneaphsey/nefsey/neaphcy(b.1789) married to a Mary Moran(b.1805) in co Mayo around 1823-4. They had a Terrance(1826), Patrick (1828) and an Ann(1831) for sure in Ireland. Then they left for Canada in 1832. Does anyone know how I would go about locating the place of births for this family.
Any help or suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. I have tried them and no connection to a Bernard married to a Mary Moran. Will keep looking.
Thank you!

Hi, I'm a Kneafsey too (through my mother side).
My Kneafseys are from Bekan but I don't think they're originally from there, haven't found where yet though. There are Kneafseys/Nefsys/Neasys in Attymass, Aghamore, Ballynaghlish, Kilconduff, Kilbeagh, Knock, Killasser, Kilgeever, Kildacommage, Meelick, Toomore, Templemore and Islandeady, so quiet a few places.
What are the names of the rest of Bernard/Bryan and Mary's children? Did any other Kneaphsey or Moran families settle in the same area as them (possibly relatives?)
