Title: Google Chrome problems
Post by: Blondie1 on Sunday 12 October 14 22:30 BST (UK)
I am having problems with google chrome for the last week.   When I click on it most of the time it brings up a white page and nothing else.   Three nights running I couldn't  get into Roots Chat room.  Its very intermittent but happens a few times a day and I have to do a restart and I can use it for a while.

Do you know what it is? or what I can do ?

Thank you

If the problem only occurs when you go into the RootsChat chat then it does sound like it's more of a problem at our end I would think.

Does the white screen thing happen on any other website you try at all?

Mr Quartz has been having a similar problem with Google recently, and he's definitely not been on RootsChat chat, (well, I don't think he has ;D), so it can't be anything at your end. I haven't had any problems with Google on my computer. Do you think he should try reinstalling it, and if so, can he save all his bookmarks (he has a lot ::))

I started having a think what software I had added in this last week and realized I had updated Malware Bytes.   I went through all my programs and found something called 'Driver Support' which I googled using my ipad and found it to be a piece of Malware.  I removed it and straight away I can use google Chrome.   So Trystan its not at your end at all it was mine.

Thank you for replying and I hope this helps other people with similar problems.

I had run Malware Bytes and it had not removed it!!

It might be worth doing a scan for Malware just to be on the safe side.

If you have a look at this topic here, then it gives you some links to trusted sites where you can scan your machine:
