Cheers South Africa'
Can anybody help with searching South Africa Records for an ancestor .
Looking for -
Stage name "Olly GILBERT " who was an entertainer who completed a Tour of South Africa in Oct 1898 with "Hudsons Surprise Party"
Perhaps there is something in news Papers over there as there was in Newspapers here.
He may have returned to South Africa after 1906, so could checks be made for anything else also maybe a death for him,
He was born as Oliver John Drought MEE on 11/4/1873 , but used the names Olly Mee Gilbert, Oliver or Laurence Gilbert and his stage name above.
Thank you all
Jen from Australia

Even today the act is quite well known. Quite a few articles on Google.
