Hi all,
Big brick wall with this one. My Great-grandfather is Percy Norman Jones - Born in Woodville in Dec 1898 to parents Albert and Katherine. I can find no further details on his parents. I have tried searching NZ birth records for Albert, but nothing.
He married by great grandmother Annie Kovaleski in 1915 (I think).
Any ideas how I could find about Albert, and what Katherine's maiden name might be?
Regards
Sherry

Hi Sherryludlam,
As a first thought, Percy's marriage certificate should give his parents names, father's occupation, and mother's maiden name. Do you have this certificate?
I've just checked the NZSG Kiwi Index which shows that the marriage took place in 1916.

Thanks heaps Janette! Sounds like he had a colourful history with his war records. This has given me heaps to go on. There was also something odd about his death - it wasn't long after his son was killed in the war, and with all the comments re Gonorrahea perhaps he was mad! So will need to fin dhow to view the records re his inquest. I didn't even realise he has been in WW1 - and then to lose his son in WW2 - would send anyone nuts.
