Hi guys
I was wondering whether any of you could help me decipher the attached street name.
It appears in a birth certificate registered in the sub district of Deansgate, Manchester. It appears twice on the certificate, so I have added both to the image. A few months later my ancestors lived on Water Street and there is a Gregson Street on a marriage certificate if that helps logistically.
Thank you

Strand Street :-\

Strand Street?
I don't know whether it still exists, but the 1861 census street index for Manchester shows a Strand Street near Deansgate.
I would post a link, but I can't make it work. If you google for 'Historical streets Project', you should be able to find it.

Hi, I agree it looks like Strand Street, there is a reference to Strand Street running parallel to Deansgate on this website.
