Title: 1901, 1911 census lookup please
Post by: Finch on Friday 03 October 14 11:34 BST (UK)
Can anybody please help me find a WALTER & SARAH POULTER who lived in the Holborn area when they married in 1896. Walter was born in 1850 in Clerkenwell and Sarah was born 1874 also in Clerkenwell. They both died in registration area of Hendon, Walter in 1917 and Sarah in 1943 but can't seem to find anything in between. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Did Walter marry Sarah Heaps at St Pauls, Clerkenwell in 1896?  His age is shown as 23, so born in 1873, not 1850.

An online tree for that couple gives his death in 1910.   :-\

Hi Nanny Jan, Sorry I did put in the incorrect date for his birth, it was 1873. I found a death for the same name in 1917, didn't see one in 1910, can you tell me if it was in the Hendon district.

Hi Finch,

The 1910 death (age given as 37)  is in the Holborn district, so would not cover Hendon.

Hi, The one I found was on FamilySearch but I don't think that's the one, I think its 1910 like you said, I just found it on The Genealogist. Thanks for all your help. I found Sarah's death as well in 1943 in Hendon, I think that's what confused me. I just can't find them on any census.

Hi,

The surname could be mis-transcribed.

Hi, Haven't been able to find any yet, I thought they might be on the census. Can't get them on FreeBMD as they don't have mothers surname till 1911. I've been trolling through 1901 census for Holborn to see if anything jumps out, but nothing yet.
