Hello,

I've just seen your post - can I ask if you have any specific records for Sutton in Craven only, between 1850 and 1860?

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

The Sutton one's are sketchy, if you give me names I will have a look but there are no marriage records, just births and burials.

Thanks.

Hi,

I am looking for the birth and burial of Adam Butterfield, who died in June 1851, aged 26, at Low Fold, Sutton. I have a death certificate for him, but no sign of a birth or burial. His father, James, was present at his death, but is also missing by the 1861 census - he is actually the original subject of another thread on here about the Butterfield family.

I'd appreciate if you can find any information in Sutton records about these 2, and also an Isaac, another son. I don't see them in the Kildwick records I have. They all appear on the 1841 and 1851 census records at Low Fold....but that's as far as it goes.

The thread about the Butterfields of Stanbury etc gives the details of my problem here.

Many thanks again,

Cliffelinks65

The above website I just checked (might have mentioned before) has a long list of Butterfields.
No Adam located but found 4 Isaac Butterfields.
1) Born 1709 Honey Hole Keighley
2) Born 1752 Keighley
3) Born 1765 Keighley
4) Born 1793 Moorside Addingham

There are 6 Butterfields listed in the burial records at Sutton Baptist Chapel..

Martha, residence Ellers (Sutton), burial 16 may 1849
Isaac, residence Ellers, burial 20 May 1849
Joseph, residence Glusburn, burial 21 March 1864
Mary Ann, residence Glusburn, burial 4 Feb 1867
Sarah, residence Eastburn, burial 17 Jan 1875
John, residence Eastburn, burial 17 Aug 1881.
No Adam unfortunately, and no Butterfield baptism records at the chapel.

There is also a grave at St Thomas church Sutton..Alice Butterfield of High Gate, Glusburn, died 21 Sept 1844 aged 37, wife of Maurice and their infant son. There are further graves of Butterfields but more recent. Have also had a look at the other Craven records I have, plenty of Butterfields but no Adam.

Many thanks to Brian and Amanda for the info - I have some of it, but not all, so it is much appreciated.

It looks like Adam is going to be another of those brick walls....!

On I go....

Hi, Do you have any information about my 2 x great grandmother, Mary Jane Clapham?  She died on 25 July 1935 at “Langvale” , St. Andrews terrace, Crosshills, Glusburn.  I was hoping to find her burial site and/or record.  Also any Clapham in the area you cover are likely to be my family.  Also the Summersgills of Barden Tower/Bolton Abbey.
Thanks for your help - anything you can find would be great!
