A long article concerning Louis and the other fella.
Louis Nash (whose remains were found and buried by Barnes in March last) was 22 years of age, about 6 feet 1 inch in height, fair complexion, medium build. He is the nephew of a lady named Jewry, who resides at Emerald Hill, Melbourne.

Hi there,
following from giblet's find,
I wonder if this thread could be moved across to the Australia Board by a moderator? I think it would likely catch the eyes of some of the Victoria and South Australia experts there.
They may have more on the JEWRY family who resided at Emerald Hill, Melbourne;
and
they may be able to assist further with any possible link to the Charles William NASH, JP, Coroner to see if there's any family links there?
Re Charles William NASH, the coroner
There’s a South Australian birth for a chap of that name, a son of Charles NASH and Marion CAMERON, born 6April 1851, Kensington, Adelaide Sth Australia.
Charles NASH and Marian Hannah CAMERON were married in Adelaide, S.A., in 1850

I will ask a moderator to consider moving the thread to the Australia Board :)

Not much in the name JEWRY in Victoria, though there are more events in the spelling JURY which may be a corruption.
Mary Ann PAMPLIN married James JEWRY
Yr. 1862 #3651.
There was a couple named James JEWRY and Mary Ann SCANTLEBERRY who had a child in 1860's
And there were three infant deaths in the 1860’s one of whom was a child of James JEWRY and Mary Ann SCANTLEBERRY.
The names of other parents of deceased children were-
John JEWRY and Mary (Unk)
Simon JEWRY and Caroline (MASON)
Many years later, on the 1931 Electoral Roll, I find Catherine JEWRY living at 315 Montague Street South Melbourne which was formerly Emerald Hill.

Looks like ian brum has been online, but he has not made any response to our research efforts so far.
Ah well, we can only hope it has been of interest to him and thrown a little light on his query. ;D

Hope this novice has finally found a way to publicly respond to all the wonderful help he's getting from you lovely people at rootschat. I've been sending pms , what a monkey!
Really building a picture of poor cousin Louis' five years in Australia and finding his family members there, thanks so much to you all.
Stupid Ian of Brum.

Dear Novice,
You are not Stupid. You are just new, and once upon a time, so too were we all.
I am not familiar with searching NT or SA, but I know you would like us to try to find a connection with Charles William NASH, the SA coroner mentioned in the newspaper report. It could well be the same Chas NASH on the passenger list, with wife Harriett, and with Louis NASH that giblet has found.
But now you have found the reply button :) so you are no longer a Novice.... :) :) :)
Cheers, JM

Hi Ian,
Nice to see you're getting the hang of things now ;D
I am wondering whether Harriet JURY was formerly NASH and perhaps related to Louis NASH as a sister or cousin.
I do not see any events in the name of the JURY couple in Victoria.

John Arthur Hylton Nash 5th Sept 1861 John + Elizabeth
Unusual second name, HYLTON, wonder if it could be their mother's maiden name ???
-
Can you give some more information about Louis NASH b. 1862 so that we can find the aunt in Melbourne.
Who are his parents and brothers and sisters?.
Do you have siblings for his parents?
-
I note the 1871 census- where we have found the details of young Louis NASH as a school pupil- also shows his brother John Arthur H NASH as scholar aged 10 years.
He is a boarder with-
John W. CRAKE (??) who is a teacher at the Grammar School aged 29.
His wife Annie CRAKE is there aged 43 with a son aged 3 and a daughter aged 2.
Also there is another scholar/ boarder, Alfred F BELE aged 13.
A servant lives in the house too
Sue
ADDING
I should have said the schools attended by the brothers were different.
John NASH being in St Swithians Lincolnshire and Louis in Sussex
It looks as if their family, either by choice or otherwise, had sent them out to board.

Thanks again for all your help folks. what I have so far on Louis' family is:
Father John Nash born 22/4/1826 Dunholme, Lincolnshire died 1869 Market Rasen, Lincs.
Mother Elizabeth b 1833 Berkshire. She was possibly Elizabeth Frances Smith.
Louis himself born April 1862 Market Rasen, Lincolnshire
Brother John Arthur Hylton Nash born 1861 Middle Rasen, Lincolnshire
Sister Olive Nash born 1860 Middle Rasen, Lincolnshire
I will have to take a day or so off to collate all the information you kind folks have found for me and see how it all may tie in. My brain is starting to hurt! hehe
