For some reason I have been unable to find the Army Service Records for J L Brown.
J L Brown is recorded on several web sites, sometimes as John Leonard Brown. He is buried in Neen Sollars (All Saints) Churchyard. Brown, Pte J L, 45149 4th Bn Kings Shropshire Light Inf. 8th Nov 1918. Another record gives his death as 8th Nov 1916. Spec Memorial.
The Army death record states that the place of death was Home and that the Theatre of War was Home. The date given is again 8th Nov 1918.
Any help in finding the service records would be very much appreciated.

I can't find them either, so perhaps they were amongst the 60-70% that didn't survive.
Sorry

Thank you for your reply SGT. I didn't know about the records that didn't survive. I now realise how lucky I was to find my family records.

Google Annette Burgoyne as she has most information on the KSLI if she is unable to help then you may be in trouble.
