Title: Decipher and Understanding Army Discharge of TS-10059 DRV

Hi,
Would appreciate it if anyone can understand what's actually written and decipher its meaning please. As a guide the Address on Discharge says Rock Cottage Penybont Nr Oswestry and the name is John Edward a Driver in the RASC. Invalided out to Birmingham then Edinburgh.

It looks like the start of the Surname 'Hugh/es' - but you have mention his surname is Edward!

I can make out that his Date of Discharge is 27/9/1919, and, he’ll receive a pension of 8/- (8 shillings) a week, commencing from the 28/9/1919.

The writing is very 'rubbed' plus it looks like the scan hasn’t covered the whole page, thus deciphering is very limiting!

He is John Edward Hughes, Driver/Wheeler.

It is hard to say when he was discharged as page 4 of his papers are not there. On the page shown 'discharge' has been replaced with a J, which may mean Judgement (of the pension award). But on another part of the page it looks like a T.

The different ranks were put into Classes for pension purposes He is Class 5, the lowest.

Putting various sources together: Driver J. E. Hughes was part of British Army Service Corps 141 Horse Transport (HT) Company part of 15th Divisional Supply Train. Date of Discharge was 27/9/1919 the day before his pension started.
I didn't know about 'Class 5'  so thanks for that. Any deciphering of 'Disabilities' or 'Degree of Disablement' would be usful.

First line of 'Disabilities' in the picture seems to start with 'Defective', can anyone understand the next word?

Still can read the writing on the Service Record regarding Defective ? but I obtained a copy ofTed's Pension Record (as distinct from his Service Record) via The Western Front Association and it showed the pension was upped to 12/- on review and has five words in the 'Disabilities' field. It lists: "Keratitis" which is crossed out, followed by "Defective Vision and Corneal Nebula".
